City of Syracuse HUD Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program

(Program)

Provides financial assistance to reduce lead-based paint hazards in privately owned, residential structures in the City of Syracuse. Common repairs provided by the program include new windows, doors, and siding.

Eligibility: City of Syracuse residents: - living in a home containing lead-based paint hazards - have a child under the age of 6 who lives or spends a significant amount of time in the home - own or occupy a unit in a one to four family residential structure - have a current annual gross household income of no more than 80% of the median income for the county

Application Process: Mail or email application found on website at www.syrgov.net/lead/

Required Documentation: Proof of ownership, proof of homeowner's insurance, proof of up-to-date mortgage(s), proof of value of assets for all adult family members, proof of enrolled student status (for household members over the age of 18), copy of government issued photo ID for applicant, blood lead level test results for all children under the age of 6, proof of current income from all applicable sources for each household member (excluding minors and full-time students)
