Animal Disease Control
(Program)
Coordinates programs to reduce animal disease in Onondaga County and to prevent the transmission of disease to humans. A major activity is the control of rabies and West Nile Virus or EEE. All reported animal bites occurring in the County are investigated and followed up to animal quarantine, if necessary. Involves close liaison with local veterinary offices, law enforcement agencies, and health care personnel.
