Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc (LASMNY)

Provides free legal information, advice, and representation to people who can't afford a lawyer and need assistance with civil (non-criminal) legal problems.

Program Information

Eligibility: Individuals who cannot afford a lawyer in Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and Otsego counties

Service Area: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and Otsego counties

Languages: Provides free, trained interpreters for people with limited ability in English and people with hearing impairments; all phones have voice/TDD access and access to interpreters in over 150 languages; an interpreter is provided face-to-face or by phone during an office visit, Afrikaans, Albanian, American Sign Language, Arabic, Assyrian, Bambara, Bosnian, French, Spanish, Ukrainian, Abenaki, Cambodian
