Parent Training and Information Center

Provides training and information to families of children with disabilities and the professionals who serve them. Offers education and advocacy to help parents better understand their children's disabilities and educational needs, how to better communicate with school and related professionals, how to understand their rights and responsibilities under IDEA, and how to obtain appropriate services for their children.
 

Eligibility: Parents of children with a disability and professionals that work with children with disabilities

Application Process: Call for an appointment or for information on upcoming trainings

Required Documentation: Educational advocacy may require documents from the child's individualized education plan, call for details

Fees: None

Service Area: Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, Oswego, and St. Lawrence counties

Languages: Language support available by appointment, American Sign Language, Spanish
