Social Security Income (SSI)

Makes monthly payments to disabled adults and children who have limited income and resources. Benefits are payable to people ages 65 years and older without disabilities.

Eligibility: Individuals who have low income and few resources and are ages 65 years or older, blind, or disabled. Disabled or blind children whose parents have little income or resources may also be eligible

Required Documentation: Social security card, birth certificate or other proof of age, proof of residency (mortgage or lease and landlord's name), proof of income, contact information for doctors, hospitals, and clinics (if disabled or blind), proof of US citizenship or noncitizen status
